Mamou
This family oriented festival will take place August 5-6, 2011 at the Mamou Recreational Center which is located at the corner of Highway 13 and Main Street, Mamou, Louisiana. Different bands will be playing traditional Cajun music for your listening and dancing pleasure. A queens contest takes place but the contestants must be at least 65 years of age. There are plenty of food booths and attractions for your enjoyment. There are also workshops such as cajuns dancing and fiddle making and contests to enter such as egg throwing, beer drinking, arm wrestling, greased pole climbing and the washer board toournament.
Admission is $6.00 for 12 years and up.
